ABOUT JOMURAI  (Jo-moo-rye)

  • "Jo" = short stick used in Karate.

  • "Murai" = derived from the word "Samurai."

  • Created by Black Belt Violet Zaki.

  • This is a simulated stick fighting workout for all fitness levels, combining cardio elements with core strength. 

THE ORIGIN

Violet traveled the globe as an Adidas Global Fitness Ambassador, teaching signature programs to fitness pros and gyms. 

 

Her stick fighting program has been launched in Asia, South America, and Canada. Seeing the whole idea come to life on an international scale has proven to be a rewarding experience and now she is excited to bring it to the U.S.

DESIGN

  • Two equal, identical ends that can be held in the same manner.

  • The comfort of the grip prevents blisters and allows for a secure grip.​​

  • The stick's weight facilitates strengthening and encourages the essential contractions and expansions of the muscles necessary to control the stick accurately during motion. 

VERSATILITY

Jomurai™ stick training can enhance sports performance involving equipment such as a stick, bat, or racquet, including baseball, softball, hockey, lacrosse, tennis, racquetball, squash, polo, and golf.

  • Violet is a certified fitness professional, a practicing Black Belt in Seido Karate. 

  • She teaches signature workouts attracting a large following at Equinox in New York City. 

  • She has a portfolio of 15 successful fitness DVDs, media appearances, masterclasses, and contributing fitness articles. 

  • ​Her witty, unapologetic attitude to motivation propels her students to train at their fullest potential, progress toward achievement of their goals, and self-empower to sustain a fit lifestyle.

GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP

Her partnership with Adidas allowed her to create and teach signature workout programs, educational workshops, and global events to hundreds of instructors, consumers, and the worldwide press corps in Korea, Kuala Lumpur, Buenos Aires, Beijing, Paris, Johannesburg, Dubai, Mexico City, Taipei, Spain, Moscow, Shanghai, and Toronto. 

 

Violet also served as Fitness Consultant to Adidas and its Fitness Academy, providing feedback to their women's training apparel lines.

SKILLS TO PAY THE BILLS

  • Violet graduated from Deakin University, Australia, with a Bachelor of Applied Science. 

  • She is a Certified Life Coach and a graduate of The Insitute for Integrative Nutrition. 

  • She has experience in career counseling, recruitment, and human services in her home country Australia and New York City, namely the Victorian Royal Guide Dogs for the Blind and Victorian School for Deaf Children in Melbourne and the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) in NYC.

PAYING IT FORWARD

Violet has coached Special Olympics athletes and inner-city kids through the Fresh Air Fund and Energy Up Program. 

 

In addition to English, Violet is fluent in Arabic and Australian Sign Language.
